Part of its foundation day, RSS cadre march in Jammu areas

As part of its foundation day celebrations, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) today performed ‘shastra pujan’ (worshipping weapons) and took out ‘Path Sanchalan’ (route marches) in various parts of Jammu.
The route marches were taken out in 13 places across Jammu region including five in the city.
In Jammu City, around 2000 RSS volunteers (swayamsevaks) along with sticks marched through different areas and markets of Jammu. The route march was also taken out in old city areas Amphalla, Rehari and Channi Himmat.
Senior BJP leaders and some MLAs also participated in the route march in full uniform of RSS (Ganvesh).
“Although, processions by RSS volunteers were taken out in different parts of Jammu region, but the main event was held in Reasi district where 1470 volunteers participated in the procession,” RSS general secretary Parshotam Dedeechi told Kashmir Post.
Prior to processions, ‘shastra pujan’ was performed at all the places. “Before taking out procession, ‘shastra pujan’ is performed in which we worship different weapons but in ‘path sanchalan’ the volunteers carry only lathis with them,” the RSS leader said.
At RS Pura, over 300 volunteers participated including the BJP MLA Dr Gagan Bhagat.
The procession started from ancient Devi Dwara Mandir, main bazaar, and passed through different locations of the town including Old Bazaar, Tehsil Bazar, Shiv Nagar Chowk, Devendra Sharma Chowk, Daljeet Singh Chowk, Munsiffs Court, Hospital Badyal Road and Hanuman Mandir Chowk.
In Doda, the procession was taken out from the Ram Leela Ground. It covered the whole town passing through the main market, Nagree College Road, DC office road and culminated at Ram Leela Ground.
The ‘sanchalan’ was welcomed at various places by the residents of Doda. Similarly, the route march was also taken out in Udhampur by the RSS volunteers.
To mention RSS, which was founded in 1925, celebrates its foundation day on the eve of Vijaya Dashami (Dussehra) by performing ‘shastra pujan’ and taking out ‘Path Sanchalan’
